Kyoto, where it used to be the capital about 150 years ago, leaves many historical building, attracting many tourists. The best examples are he UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities). Especially the Kiyomizu-dera, Byoudouin, Rokuon-ji (Kinkaku-ji), and Jishou-ji (Ginkaku-ji) are the major temples with many tourists visiting every day. Also as the Kyoto 3 big festival, there are Aoi Matsuri, Gion Matsuri, and Jidai Matsuri. There will be many people visiting. Nishijin ori and Kyo yuzen, and Uji tea and Kyoyasai are the special products and there are many more. As a local food, "saikyozuke" is famous.
