The southern Saitama is the big suburb and the northern part is a farmland. On top of modern industry, there are areas that have Japan's number one production in green onion, broccoli, carp streamer, and Japanese socks. Kawagoe Hikawa Festival, one of the 3 big festivals in Kanto region, and Chichibuyo Festival, one of the Japan's 3 most beautiful festival or Japan's 3 big Hikiyama Festival are famous. Igamanju, a manju with koshian around it is the famous local food.
