Mt. Fuji lies on Shizuoka. The Mt. Fuji seen from the Shizuoka side is called the front Fuji. There is Izu, one of the major hot spring resorts is in Shizuoka and since it is close from the metropolitan, it is popular tourist spot. Also, Shizuoka is famous for its tea. They have the number one production and the tea of Shizuoka is praised as Japan's two best teas. Also, there are many marine products known such as shirasu (young sardines) and sakura ebi (small pink shrimp). The local food is "sakura ebi's kakiage (mixture of vegetable bits and shrimp fried in batter).
