Yamaguchi is famous for its ballonfish that the prefecture fish is balloonfish as well. Japan designated Kouzan-ji, Sumiyoshi-Jinja, and Rurikou-ji as national treasure. Also, there is Ganryu-jima. It is famous for the duel between Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojirō. Yamaguchi Tanabata Chouchin Matsuri is one of the 3 Great Festivals in Japan. There will be about 100 thousand paper lantern there. Ballonfish dish and "Iwakuni sushi" are the famous local food.
