Goryojinja

The Goryojinja Shrine is said to have the spirit of Kamakura Gongoro Kagemasa residing inside of it. Gongoro was a military commander known for his bravery, having set out for war when he was only 16, under the care of Minamoto no Yoshiie. He is famous for having continued fighting his enemies even when his eyes were injured in battle. The local people also call this shrine “Gongorojinja.”
