- Published 2010.7.13
The Berick Hall (Former Berick Mansion) was built in 1930 and lived in by the English tradesman B.R. Berick. After being used up until the start of World War Two, the mansion was donated to the Catholic Maria Organization in 1956 by Berick’s family, and until 2000, was used as a boarding house for the Saint Joseph International School. Of all the currently existing foreign residences in Yamate from before the war, the Berick Hall has the greatest structure, having been designed by American Architect J.H. Morgan.
