National Museum of Nature and Science
- Published 2010.7.13
The National Museum of Nature and Science is a museum which mainly displays natural science exhibits. The museum was established in 1871, the current “Japanese Hall” was completed in 1930, and in 2008 it became a national cultural heritage.
The museum is made up of the “Japanese Hall” and the “Earth Hall.” In the Japanese Hall, exhibits to do with Japan’s personal history can be seen. On the other hand, the Earth Hall contains displays on dinosaurs, global environmental changes, and space travel.
We recommend visiting “Theatre 360,” an attraction which was moved to the National Museum of Nature and Science from Nagakute City’s “Love Earth Museum” in 2005. This sphere shaped theatre, with a diameter of 12.8 meters, is where tourists can watch a short science related movie.
The museum occasionally has special exhibits and events for students.
