Fuji Shibazakura Festival
- Published 2010.7.13
Last year over 360,000 people were entranced by the newly founded Fuji Shibazakura Festival, which boasts a total of over 700,000 shibazakura (moss phlox) flowers, covering an area of approximately 2.4ha of land. With Mount Fuji in the background and its reflection seen in the lake, as well as five different types of shibazakura grown to make patterns on the ground of the dragon gods in legends from the area, this festival offers something that no other festival can. Red, pink and white shibazakura make a stunning sight against the surroundings of the Ryujin Lake and Mount Fuji.
